I have wanted to publish these essays for a very long time. My motivation in doing so now is that I am feeling my age, and want my thoughts and observations to be preserved for the future, while they are still clear in my mind.
I recognize that some in our fallen telestial world will be offended by the truths within these essays and will be quick to dismiss them by applying censorship through labeling. Labeling me as a chauvinist, misogynist, or even as an anachronistic patronizing male.
Such labeling will allow them to reject the points, and keep hold on the comfortable, even hypnotic false narratives they love, but the labels would still be in error, and the result would only be to add to the corruption of the sacred truths regarding what it truly means to be a woman.
Essay One
Equality is not Sameness
One of Satan’s greatest and most effective tools in seeking victory through the denigration of womanhood has been to deceive humans into believing the lie that equality requires sameness.
This is no simple declaration and one that requires deep analysis. I have even known those who intellectually agree that equality does not require sameness, turn and continue to argue for sameness in the name of equality.
Years ago, while camping with my brother and some friends in the fields behind our home, I unwisely decided to burn a fire safety ring around our campfire, so that the fire from our pit would not spread during the night. As soon as I started to burn the safety ring, the winds caught the flames and fanned them out of control. My associates and I struggled in vain to extinguish the flames and the fire began to spread wider.
In my heart I longed for the arrival of some firefighters to extinguish the flames and save us. Now, as a child I had an equal respect for the fireman and police officers, However in that moments, I strongly favored the fireman’s service , because I needed their talents, skills and abilities. How ridiculous it would have been for a dispatcher to, in the name of equality, send police officers to the scene instead.
True equality is seeing the intrinsic value and eternal worth of the souls of others, whatever God given roles they may be accomplishing.
In God’s kingdom men and women are equally loved, equally valued in their roles, equally heirs to exaltation and eternal life. They are equal heirs with Christ and recipients of all the blessed effects of the atonement. However, their roles have been, and always will be, different.
Satan’s tactic is to inspire God’s children to blend roles, to remove distinctions, and in so doing he corrupts both roles and purposes, which moves toward his desired destruction of God’s plan.
Gentiles and Jews were not the same. Yet as God’ kingdom expanded the truth became clear that they were equally loved and equally beneficiaries of Christs gospel. Many early Jewish saints had a hard time with that truth, and foolishly tried to get the gentile to become Jewish, to be the “same” as the Jews, in a misplaced attempt at equality.
Thankfully at the Jerusalem conferences the experiences of Peter and Paul combined with the scripturally sound declaration of James, brought out the truth that sameness was not required for equality, as all the worthy proselytes had been recipients of the Holy Ghost.
Perhaps the best biblical illustration of the truth that equality does not require sameness is Paul’s analogy to the body. The eye was an eye. It had a specific role. It was an eye and would always be an eye, but it was still valued equally with the ear. Even though the ear was not an eye, and never would be, it was still equally valued and important to the body.
If women are the eyes and men are the ears, any attempt to force a change their roles and purposes disrespects both roles and will only harm the body. That is Satan’s intent and one God’s children should never fall prey too.
