The latest article from the New Expositor (Exponent) amounted to nothing more that a mixture of the false doctrine adopted by so many, that we are not permitted to judge others, combined with the equally fallacious doctrine that chastening, correcting and pointing out flaws are mean and unloving actions. It is still amazing to me that with so many scriptural references to God and Jesus correcting errors, commanding us to judge righteously, directing us to try and save others by pointing out the need for them to change….. the low information posters continue to spew the diatribe which is nothing more than an outgrowth of the slouching of our society into moral relativism. The fact remains that there are absolute truths, that some groups and organizations are actually in apostasy and are advocating apostate doctrines to the hurt of others, and that if they are not challenged and do not change, they will be spiritually destroy and cut off from God and his kingdom. No matter how the mamby pamby, low conflict, love seekers, try to make it appear otherwise, the truth remains that facilitating sinful conduct, or refusing to correct or chasten when it is needed, is nothing like true love. True love, combined with a witness of the harmful and destructive nature of apostasy, motivates those persons who truly love to take action, to call out the sinner, to declare what sin is, and to proclaim the need for repentance, so that their souls might be saved. It is decidedly unloving for the "let's just get along, cum ba ya group' to facilitate the sinful conduct of their brothers and sisters for the eternally meaningless goal or avoiding conflict, particularly when conflict is the only thing that might have a chance on reaching the apostate. When the poster writes such relativistic hogwash as: " We need to put down our weapons and words, put down our walls, and stop being concerned with who is right and who is wrong." They demonstrate hateful and harmful relativism. In all matters of faith and religion, who is right and who is wrong has eternal consequences. Avoiding conflict in this life and the expense of sending your brother and sister to eternal separation from God, is selfish and short sighted. We need to remain concerned with what is right and what is wrong, and with any who are in error, so that we might labor with our might to reclaim them. That is the only truly loving path to follow. |
