After sharing a poem by Carol Lynn Pearson called "Obedient Girl", the poster misinterprets the poem as a slight on the principle of obedience, as if the girl's obedience lead her into transgression. The fact is that obedience was not the problem, but rather who the girl chose to obey. In the poem the girl loved to please herself, and obey the natural desires of the human flesh. Thus her endstate clearly reflects that she was not obedient to, nor had any desire to please God. So yes, it is an eternal principle that actions have consequences. Obeying, honor and loving God, will lead to the fruits of the spirit, while obeying, honoring and loving the flesh, will lead to sorrow, envy and discontent. After misapplying the meaning of the poem, she launches on another poorly reasoned, and clearly biased diatribe about how afraid she is that her girls will grow up obeying God and the leaders he has chosen, and dishonestly claiming that the church is a religious system that "grants women absolutely zero institutional or spiritual authority" which is outright deceit. Her use of profanity in the post indicates that she herself has already listed to obey something other than God, so it is not surprising that she doesn't want her daughters to follow Him either. A twisted example of the satanic mindset of misery loves company. This post is clearly not really an indication of concern about obedience as a law, but rather a demonstration of prideful disagreement with the doctrine of submission to God. It seems the poster has no problem obeying the God of her own creation, nor as a self-deified human, being obeyed by others. It is submission to the real God, which appears to bother her, perhaps because she has long since submitted to the lesser powers, and seems to fit those Joseph described as servants of disobedience. The last portions of the blog where she decries being afraid of censorship, is purely bogus, particularly in light of the censorship that she and her husband impose upon their blog, and those who point out their logical fallacies and weak claims. This poster seems to want what all OW supporters want, to be able to disobey while simultaneously escaping the consequences of their choices, which is just another way of saying they want to be God rather than submit to him. The tragic irony of that mindset, is that in doing so they actually render complete obedience and even submission to the enemy of all righteousness. Even more tragic is that the poster's seeming choice to teach her daughters disobedience will not only hurt her, but may have a huge and negative impact on them for generations to come, and possibly for the eternities. That is a display of narcissism at its finest, but we can still hope that her daughters will apply her example of disobedience and choose to disobey her, refuse to submit to her agenda and indoctrination, and turn their hearts to the real God. |
