"FWJ, I have no idea what you’re talking about. Not one single comment–no matter how crazy–has been deleted from Doves and Serpents. Ever. No one’s censoring you. Don’t flatter yourself."
Even though she misunderstood, I was good with the declaration because it meant I could continue to debunk their false teachings. However, over time I noticed again that my comments were being blocked on their cite, and I would inquire only to be told the reason was not known. Finally, in response to the Kate Kelly Disciplinary Council, the Chief Editor's husband, who is also an editor on the blog, flat out excommunicated me from posting, demanding that in order to win the right to post, I would have to acquiesce to his demands, and post what he wanted to see. I pointed out his blatant hypocrisy, and quoted some wisdom from the famous philosopher JS Mill, with regard to why censorship is never a good idea. Here is my Email where I first quote him and then translate it;
Unless you are actually going to engage in the discussion (rather than just cut-and-paste from LDS.org, there really isn’t any reason to engage on our
blog.)?????
Tanslation: "It makes me feel better to allege that you cut and pasted from LDS.org, so I will claim it even though it is not true, and I will only allow someone to engage if they do it according to my desires and only on topics that I choose and only in a way that does not threaten my weak arguments or the house of cards I have built upon them"...
Here are two quotes from J.S. Mill on why censorship is a bad idea!.... by the way he did not like Mormons either.
First: the opinion which it is attempted to suppress by authority may possibly be true. Those who desire to suppress it, of course deny its truth; but they are not infallible. They have no authority to decide the question for all mankind, and exclude every other person from the means
of judging. To refuse a hearing to an opinion, because they are sure that it is false, is to assume that _their_ certainty is the same thing as _absolute_ certainty. All silencing of discussion is
an assumption of infallibility.
However unwillingly a person who has a strong opinion may admit the possibility that his opinion may be false, he ought to be moved by the consideration that however true it may be, if it is not fully, frequently, and fearlessly discussed, it will be held as a dead dogma, not a living truth.
Enjoy your dead dogma!
To which he replied:
"When/if you want engage in a productive discussion, let me know. And yes, on our blog you have to play by our rules (nothing personal)."
Of course his rules were to limit content, block responses, demand answers to question unrelated to the post, etc. In short his is saying that it is OK for him to censor since it is his cite, yet his posts do not allow that freedom to others, and in fact he condemns such actions by others.
The foregoing clearly indicates that the Doves and Serpents blog, like many other of its genre, is not a venue for discussion and truth seeking, but rather a bully pulpit for spreading propaganda. Accordingly I have changed the name of the post to more accurately reflect their purpose and if any posts in the future seek to promulgate the same old propaganda, to spew false doctrines, or display the fallacies of human reason as a methodology to truth, I will simply debunk it on this blog, where censorship will never rule the day.
