I would encourage all members to prayerfully, and under the direction of the spirit, listen to Elder Oak's talk in context, that they might know that he was not supporting the OW movement in any way, but rather was trying to get them to set aside their bias and to understand true doctrine. To those who listened to that talk, under the influence of the Holy Ghost, it became clear that the OW
movement is in apostasy. This article demonstrates again that rather than seeking to know Gods will, they are seeking to impose their own will upon God, just as they seek here to impose their private interpretation upon one of his apostles.
This is ark steadying at its finest, and reminds me of a joke a Navy commander once told me about his favorite JAG officer. He called the young sailor in and ask him what a certain Navy Regulation meant. The astute JAG officer replied "What do you want it to mean sir?" The point is clear. Bias
destroys our abilities to see and understand things as they really are, and allows us to impose our desires and wishful thinking upon the truth, until it looks to us like what we want it to mean. So when adherents to the OW movement feel worried about the justice of their cause, and the spiritual impressions from Elder Oak's words began to lead them from apostasy, they anxiously asked their leaders; "What did his talk really mean?".....and in this article she tells them exactly what she "wanted it to mean."
