Here are the examples: Lori Ann:"If there are not things that we are waiting to open our eyes to (which means God is waiting on us to ask him) then the foundation of the Church’s Restoration falls apart and the heavens are closed". It is true that the Lord will reveal things for our future use and that the heavens are not closed, but that does not mean that once God has spoken, the discontented members who did not want to hear what He had to say, can continue to petition the church to ignore God and enforce their own wills. In this case God has spoken, (which means that God is waiting on his rebellious daughters to obey him.) LoriAnn: "The Church is not a country club that one can “just leave” if we “don’t like the rules.”Our good standing in the Church determines our salvation unto God—at least, so says the Church." The Church is not a country club that members can just vote on changing the rules to fit their private desires. Additionally, after criticizing the church and declaring that it is flawed, it seems strange to make the argument that they can't leave the church, because the church says it effects their salvation. That is disingenuous at best. If the church is flawed, then they can simply assume that it is as wrong in its claims about the need for the church for salvation as it is about not ordaining women, and so they can leave it with a good conscience and peace, with the same radical certainty that they have about ordaining women. LoriAnn: "The faithful men and women who align themselves with Ordain Women have each individually asked God and felt for themselves that the answer to gaining gender equality is female ordination of some kind. But wanting to hold true to the order and structure of the Church, knowing that a revelation for all must come through the prophet, they are asking him to ask God." An absolute misrepresentation of the position of OW supporters. They have already decided that women should be ordained and are advocating for that specific plan. They do not want to hear from God, unless He is to affirm their preconceived notions. The evidence is clear that when an Apostles corrects their false claims, they ignore or distinguish his remarks into oblivion. They want to enforce their views on the church, and if God does not agree with them, then he is simply not God. LoriAnn:"The Church teaches that the Priesthood is necessary for the salvation of mankind, to govern the kingdom of God on the earth, to administer ordinances, and to bless others. The conditional logic inferred in this point is that ordination is the only way to fulfill the functions of the Priesthood; anything less is separate but equal" Her logical inference is nothing of the sort. The preceding statement does not infer that ordination is required, in fact, if she were listening instead of advocating she would have understood by the spirit that Elder Oaks taught that priesthood power is exercised by men and women, without the need for ordination. The inference that separate but equal is flawed comes from the human failures and experiments with the concept. God is all powerful and in his kingdom he can love, sustain, bless and exalt his daughters and treat them as perfect equals without their having to be the same as his sons, particularly since they are exercising different, essential, yet complementary roles. LoriAnn:"First, a man who did not have current ecclesiastical stewardship conducted her court and excommunicated her. There is an order to the Church and it was violated." This comment displays total ignorance to how disciplinary councils work. Excommunication or any other sanction arising out of disciplinary councils are given by revelation. It is decidedly schizophrenic for LoriAnn to be upset that the church does not heed their cries for the prophet to seek revelation, and then to turn and fault the system God has set up, which makes decisions by that very process. That proves the point that OW and its supporters do not want to know God's will whether it is expressed about not ordaining women, or his judgment that an apostate OW supporter should be excommunicated. What they truly want is to be God so they can declare Kate Kelly a Saints, and enforce their false doctrine of the need for women's ordination, upon the Church. As an aside the order of the church was not violated, and jurisdiction was still held by the Bishop who had been working with Kelly for some time. LoriAnn: "The only thing that would really make women spiritually and authoritatively equal to men in the context of the LDS Church is for women to be ordained." Absolutely a false statement, but the rehashing of the dogmatic pillar of all OW supporters indicates the fallacy of her other points. This is not the case of mere questioning. If it were true that Kate Kelly was only wanting the prophet to ask God, and it is clear that has not happened, then on what basis does LoriAnn make this definitive statement? On the basis of her preconceived notions. Lori Ann like Kate Kelly and all OW supporters is not interested in asking God for truth, she, as they, has invented her own truth as stated here, and is seeking to have it enforced regardless of the will of God, His chosen Leaders, or the majority of Church members. That radical attempt to enforce false doctrine constitutes apostasy, not questioning. |

You seem more than a little obsessed with Mormon feminists. Anything new to contribute, or just diatribes that amount to "blah blah feminists suck blah"?

Actually a careful reading of this and other posts indicates a much deeper purpose and methodology. Nothing in the responses amounts to ad hominine attacks. They are all well reasoned, and truth based exposes of the flaws in methodology and reasoning of the Mormon Feminist movement. The discipline that lacks newness is Mormon Feminism itself, which is the same old apostasy and self-deification that has existed since the war in heaven.
